Training I used to prepare for the CCNA:
- Skillsoft
- Cisco ICND I and ICND II books.
- Test simulation software from above books
- Testking
The biggest piece that helped me was to sit down and take 50 – 60 question practices tests with a 90 minute timer. This taught me how to pace myself, how to quickly breakdown the question and how to double check my answers. double check the answers? Simple choose the right one, then go through and verify it by eliminating the others. Now I eliminate the obvious every time and then choose the right one.
Simulation questions drove me crazy, I just could not get the exam to confirm right or wrong. Really bugged me.

This week has been very busy for me.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I studied and practiced for the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Exam. This is a major milestone for me, as it is the first certification that I have tested for in over 10 years. Taking the exam proves, that I am able to do the job that I say Ican do. Everyone I work with know I can, but now I have the proof.
Wednesday, I took and passed the exam!!!
Second, My Droid finally arrived and I have been having a blast with it. Enough to drive my wife crazy. Now that I know how to use the “Market” for it and can look for apps and such.
Favorite App so far? The “Tricorder” puts a Star Trek theme around all the various EM related functions a droid. Really Really cool. My son informed me that I need more games on it. Have to fix that now.
Why is that almost every day these days is loaded from get up to go to sleep with stuff to do? Yesterday, I kept trying to sit down for 5 minutes and never could. sigh.
Still waiting on it. Seems they are backorder, something fierce.

Just wanted to express my thanks to Dennis Little Painting. He finished today and even with all my little changes and adds, he finished on time and within budget. Most amazing and terrific job. Will take some final pictures, but our basement now looks finished.

So the update 1.3 arrived at my on release day, it downloaded, installed and just ran. I really like it when software just works. The new features, an expanded toolbar with Games, Web Browser and a few others. All are really nifty, but I will only be using the Web Browser when there is no other way and it is really needed. Directions maybe?
The games, I have played the Sudoko and found it easy to use, like most things you have to remember that bottom screen is touch. I suspect with these new items my Battery life will drop as I will be using the touch screen more and more.

Well I have found the gotcha with a
Nook, they make buying an item way too easy. I think I have bought more books in the last week or so, than I have in the last 3 months.

So My lady last week came home and said, “My friend has a Nook, I want one.” Being a good husband I said, let me research them. Did not have to include that I had been looking at them last November. I read reviews at
Geek Brief,
CNET,
ChamberFour, or
eBookReader. Plus many others. What it came down too. Being able to touch and feel. The Nook, I could play with. Then Kindle I could not.
So now we have two, Yes I said two. I wanted one for me and one for her. I have found so far that reading is great and easy, buying simple(too simple) and now to find magazines and newspapers.
